LS Low-Mount Alternator Bracket – Vortec Truck Spacing

This bracket provides a 1998–2002 Camaro-style low-mount alternator position with Vortec truck accessory spacing. Machined from ?-inch-thick 6061-T6 billet aluminum, it includes the required additional idler pulley and a billet rear alternator brace.

Designed for a 1998–2002 Camaro alternator, it uses the factory-style rear alternator brace mounting setup.

Kit Includes:

  • Additional idler pulley

  • Grade 8 zinc-coated bolts

  • Precision CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum spacers

  • Stainless steel washers

  • CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet rear alternator brace

Vortec Truck Block Installation:

The upper mounting hole must be drilled and tapped into the block:

  • Use a .339-inch drill bit.

  • Drill ¾ inch deep.

  • Tap the hole with a 10 mm × 1.5 tap.

The factory truck setup uses two bolts through the alternator into the block, along with the billet rear brace.

Alternator Fitment:

  • 1996–1999 Chevy truck 350–454 alternator, 8206-5AN — provides the most clearance behind the alternator

  • 1998–2002 Camaro and Firebird

  • 2004–2006 GTO

Belt Size:

Use Gates K060790 when paired with our LS1-style high-mount power steering bracket.
