This kit is designed to be used with our water pump adapters and a Gen IV Corvette water pump. Water pump adapters are HERE. Water pump adapter install is HERE.
All threaded holes in the block and cylinder head should cleaned and tapped with a thread chaser. All bolts being installed should be lubed with a light oil or anti-seize on the bolt threads before assembly.
Read all of the instructions before you start the assembly. Lube all bolt threads before installing. Torque the 10MM bolts to 28 FT LBS and the 8MM bolts to 18 FT LBS. Bolt the rear bracket to the passenger cylinder head by putting the "A" spacers between the bracket and the head. You will use 2 10MMX60 flat head, 1 10MMX60 socket head, and 1 8MMX60 socket head bolts.
Bolt the front plate to the rear plate by placing the 3 "B" spacers between the plates and using 3 flat head 10MMX100 bolts.
Mount the compressor between the two brackets. The "C" spacer will be placed between the backside of the front bracket and the compressor ears. The "D" spacer will be placed between the backside of the rear bracket and the compressor ears.
Mount the tensioner onto the front plate using the spacer under the tensioner.
Install the idler pulley onto the front bracket. The spacer is installed between the front plate and the idler stand.
Correct belt tensioning can be determined by the distance between the tensioner and idler pulleys. When using small diameter pulleys and test fitting belts, you want as close to 2" between the two pulleys as possible. If ithis distance is less than 2" the belt will be to loose.
