DD-LS-SR-ALT-PS-1 - LS Alternator Type 1 Power Steering Street Rod High Mount

All threaded holes in the block and cylinder head should cleaned and tapped with a thread chaser. All bolts being installed should be lubed with a light oil or anti-seize on the bolt threads before assembly.

Place the three counter sunk bolts through the front plate. Install the three "A" spacers, then the back plate, and finally the "D" spacers. Holding all the pieces toghether align the bolts and hand thread into the driver's cylinder head.

 

 

 

Next the "B" and "C" spacers are placed between the pump and the fropn bracket. The longer "C" spacer uses the longer flat head counter sunk bolts.

 

 

Torque pump bolts to 28 ft lbs.

Install alternator between front and rear brackets using the long socket head bolts with a stanless washer under the head and the nut.

 

 

Torque alternator and brackets bolts to 28 ft lbs.

Next install the idler pulley onto the front bracket. Install the power steering pump using the correct installation tool. Belt routing is as shown.

 

 

Belt sizes-

Small case alternator Gates K060795

Large case alternator Gates K060802

 

When using 2010-15 Camaro water pump and tensioner add 4.0" to belt length.
