1965-1970 GM B Body

If your vehicle did not start out as a Chevy V8, you will need to acquire Chevy V8 frame perches for a direct bolt in swap. However, we do not have a source for a reproduction V8 frame perch. If you come across reproduction frame perches, let us know.

1965-1970 Chevrolet SBC's used the short and wide motor mount.

OEM rubber motor mounts last much longer than aftermarkert rubber. Poly mounts essentially last a lifetime and don't need to be replaced.

Oil Pan Options:

1965-70 B-body's have "rear stear". The steering cross link is behind the engine crossmember which leads to issues with oil pan options. The Holley 302-1 oil pan is the most commonly used pan as the sump of the pan is further to the rear. However the front section of the pan is quite deep which may lead to clearance problems on the engine crossmember. Some have used the "Muscle Car" pan but the depth is still less than an inch of a difference from a Truck pan. In order to gain clearance from the front section of the oil pan you will have to notch the engine crossmember.

This shows the Holley 302-1 pan clearing the stock cross link and how it sits directly on the engine crossmember in the rear. The rear of the pan will sit up higher once the transmission is actually installed.
