Truck Spacing

 

Truck spacing is the most commonly available setup. They are cheap and plentiful. Just because they are cheap doesn't mean they aren't worthy of a swap. Richard Holdener made 1200HP on a 4.8!

The main issues of this setup for a swap is the truck intake manifold doesn't clear the hood in some situations, the oil pan hangs below most engine crossmembers if it clears the crossmmember in the first place, the power steering pump pulley hits power steering gearboxes/control arms, and iron blocks typically don't have the mounting holes for low mount alternator accessory brackets. To get the Intake Manifold to clear the hood, sometimes all you have to do is take the cover off. Other times you arent so lucky and have to buy a car intake manifold. When putting a car intake manifold on, often times the throttle body hits the idler pulley near the alternator and the throttle body hits the upper water outlet on the truck water pump. To get around the idler pulley, we have an Idler Relocation Bracket(IRB). This bracket is also used when deleting power steering.

Some people are able to change to a GEN IV truck water pump (as seen in the image above) to keep the OEM clutch fan but sometimes thats not enough. Using our Water Pump Spacers, you can run an LS1 water pump with a 98-02 Camaro tensioner. This changes the upper water outlet to go straight forward which clears all throttle bodies. The Water Pump Spacers also gives you a barbed nipple for routing your steam line. You could also look at running a 2010-2015 Camaro water pump as well although that water pump is much tighter to the block on the passenger side limiting what accessory brackets are available to you on the passenger head and the tensioner is much more expensive. This water pump will require the IRB as the upper water outlet is on the drivers side in the same spot(as seen in the image below).

You can check out how close the 2010 Camaro water pump is to the passenger side of the block in this article. If running this water pump and running accessory brackets on the passenger side as not all of them clear the water pump. The following accessory brackets clear the 2010 Camaro water pump:

 

DD-LS-SANDEN-AC-VVT

Sanden 508 AC Bracket for VVT water pumps.

DD-LS-AC-SR

Mini Sanden AC Bracket tucked in tight to the block. Works with every mechanical water pumpand Meziere's Designed for model 7176 Sanden SD7B10 7 piston compressor. 

DD-LS-ALT-PASS-VVT

If not running a power steering pump on the Driver's side, then the Idler Only Bracket(IOB) is required. Will not accomodate Meziere's Electronic Water Pump with an idler.

Other than the VVT water pumps affecting the upper passenger side accessory brackets, all other mechanical water pumps will fit with no issues with every accessory bracket we make. The spacer directly above the upper drivers side water pump bolt may need to be slightly notched. The only accessory bracket that will not accomodate Meziere's electric water pumps with and idler is the Passenger Alternator bracket. 

 

 

 

 

Hydraulic Power Steering and Alternator Setups:

 

DD-LS-ALT-PS 

Designed to place the LS truck power steering pump in tight to the engine but lowers and pushes the atlernator outwards to help with clearing the hood. If your stock LS Truck power steering pump clears everything but the alternator is hitting the hood, this is the answer. 

 

*Designed for alternators with 5.46" from 98-02 Camaro CS130D and all LS Truck alternators including DR44 and AD244's; will also work with the 6.06" bolt pattern from Corvette, G8, CTS-V, 2010-15 Camaro, or the Chevy SS.

*Stock LS truck power steering pump, excluding Envoys, Trailblazers, and Colorados

 

DD-LS-DA-PS

If you are running a lot of accessories such as off-road lights, welder, big inverter, big sound system, winch, etc. and need that extra juice to power everything. Top alternator is in the same location as stock LS truck alternators. 

 

*Designed for alternators with 5.46" bolt pattern. 98-02 Camaro CS130D and all LS Truck alternators including DR44 and AD244's. Will NOT accept the 6.06" bolt pattern from Corvette, G8, CTS-V, 2010-15 Camaro, or the Chevy SS.

*Stock LS truck power steering pump, not including Envoys, Trailblazers, and Colorados

DD-LS-ALT-PS-2

If your stock truck power steering pump is having clearance issues such as the pulley hitting the power steering gearbox.

 

*Designed to use a 90-95 5.7L C1500 power steering pump as the reservoir goes straight up and we are able to tuck it in much higher than a LS truck power steering pump. You can reuse the LS truck power steering pump pulley unless you started out with an Envoy, Trailblazer, or Colorado. 

*Designed for alternators with 5.46" from 98-02 Camaro CS130D and all LS Truck alternators including DR44 and AD244's; will also work with the 6.06" bolt pattern from Corvette, G8, CTS-V, 2010-15 Camaro, or the Chevy SS.

 

DD-LS1-ALT-PS-TR 

The 97-04 Corvette remote reservoir setup will bolt on to the face of the bracket. If going with a different remote reservoir, it is good practice to mount it higher than the power steering pump. When running a 98-02 Camaro power steering pump, you will need a press in fitting to run a remote power steering return line. When running the 97-13 Corvette power steering pump, you need to use the included X spacers to push the pump to the rear to line up properly with the rest of the accessories as the pulley has a different offset than the 98-02 Camaro. 

 

*Designed to use a Type II power steering pump from a 98-02 (CB Series) Camaro or 97-13 (TC Series)Corvette with a remote reservoir. 

*Designed for alternators with 5.46" from 98-02 Camaro CS130D and all LS Truck alternators including DR44 and AD244's; will also work with the 6.06" bolt pattern from Corvette, G8, CTS-V, 2010-15 Camaro, or the Chevy SS.

 

 

DD-LS1-PS-TR

Stock 98-02 Camaro style power steering pump bracket in stock location. We also make a "Close-Fit" that pushes the bracket up a little allowing us to tuck it in tighter to help with turbo exhaust.

*Designed for 98-02 Camaro CB series power steering pump. Does not fit 2010-12 Camaro CBR series. 

DD-LS1-CPS-TR

Our Close-Fit power steering bracket. We refined the stock 98-02 Camaro power steering pump position to better fit turbo exhaust. We moved it in a little more and pushed it up a little higher.

Low mount alternator bracket for the 98-02 Camaro style. Lower profile than your 2004-06 GTO and 2010-2015 Camaro!

DD-LS-ALT-PASS-TR

High mount alternator bracket for the passenger side.

Also available in Camaro spacing although that gives you very limited space to work with. May cause issues with aftermarket valve covers and large case alternators. 

*Will not work with 2010 Camaro water pump. DD-LS-ALT-PASS-VVT is designed for 2010 Camaro water pumps.

DD-LS-IOB-TR

An accessory bracket to add an idler pulley on the Driver's side head to help with proper belt wrap on the water pump. Necessary when deleting the power steering on 1998-02 Camaro and 2010-12 Camaro setups. 2013-15 Camaro is not included because they already replaced the hydraulic pump with and idler pulley as they have electric power steering.

AC Compressor Accessory Bracket

 

DD-LS-SANDEN-AC-TR

AC bracket for Sanden 508 compressors. 

Also available in Camaro and Corvette spacing

DD-LS-R4-AC-TR

This will allow you to re-use your GM R4 Pancake compressor that became popular in the 80's up until '96. The updated version (2016+) is designed to be able to change the compressor to a Sanden 508 using the same exact bracket, just different bolts and spacers mounting the compressor. This allows you to run what you have until you are ready to change over to a Sanden 508 without having to buy an entire new accessory bracket. Let us know when buying our Sanden compressor (DD-508) so we can add the correct mounting hardware. 

*Will not work with 2010 Camaro water pump

Alternator Only Setups:

 

DD-LS-ALT-EWP-TR                

Required when using an Electric Water Pump (without an idler). Places an automatic belt tensioner on the correct slack side of the belt. Using an Electric Water Pump will help you squeeze out every bit of hp your accessories are robbing from your engine so you can use every bit of your engine on the track. If you would like to run an Electric Water Pump with more than just an alternator, check out Meziere's line of water pumps with an idler pulley on it to help with belt routing. 

Also available in Camaro and Corvette spacing. 

*Designed for alternators with 5.46" from 98-02 Camaro CS130D and all LS Truck alternators including DR44 and AD244's; will also work with the 6.06" bolt pattern from Corvette, G8, CTS-V, 2010-15 Camaro, or the Chevy SS.

 

DD-LS-ALT-N-TR

We make a narrow and wide alternator only bracket. Reccomended to use the wide version if you can fit it in your project as it places the alternator further away from the valve covers. Narrow bracket will limit you to normal valve covers and smaller alternators especially when going with Camaro and Corvette spacing. 

Also Available in Camaro and Corvette spacing.
